What Are the Most Crucial Documents I Need to Safeguard My Estate?

There are 4 main documents that I tell my clients they should have. One is a will and that protects your estate after you've died. The other is the power of attorney and that protects your financial assets in case your in a situation where you cannot make financial decisions such as a coma or something like that. There's also the healthcare surrogate. The healthcare surrogate is similar to a power attorney only it's to make healthcare decisions instead of financial decisions. And finally there's the living will and that's a directive to healthcare providers to make sure that they understand what your wishes are in case you are placed in a situation where you cannot make those healthcare decisions.
